Our Headquarters

About Us

Our farming operation spans three generations and began as ElBob Farms when Robert F. (RF) Pace started farming the land he owned in La Center, KY in the mid 1960’s.  ElBob Farms continued for about 10 years until management was transferred to RF’s sons Mike and Larry and Pace Brothers Farms was created.  We operated as Pace Brothers Farms until Larry retired in 2014.  Now Pace Family Farms, LLC, we are owned and operated by the father and son team of Mike and Corey Pace.

Mike began his farming career working with his father growing crops on some of the same ground we farm today.  He briefly left the farm to attend college and graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in agricultural economics in 1969.  Throughout his lifelong farming career he has raised hogs, chickens, and cows and has grown tobacco, corn, soybeans, wheat, canola, tomatoes, alfalfa, and milo.

Corey grew up on the farm raising livestock and row crops.  He originally pursued interests other than farming and graduated from the University of Kentucky and the University of Tennessee with BS and MS degrees in mechanical engineering.  For 14 years he worked in industry, and is a licensed professional engineer.  In 2014, he left his engineering career and returned to his roots to pursue his passion for farming.

Mike and Corey individually bring specific skills to the operation that combine to drive best in class performance and bring significant value to both the operation and landowner partners.  Mike keeps the operation grounded in solid fundamentals of both business and agronomics while Corey brings a new set of tools for solving problems, adopting new technology, and analyzing data.  Together, their skills allow them to stay on the leading edge on agriculture innovation.
